Nikon D7000 with Nikkor 24-120 f/4 movie test Full HD

This video is taken by new Nikon DSLR D7000 in D-Movie Full HD (24p) with new FX lens Nikkor 24-120 f/4 VR @F4.

Its composed from 4 separated MOV and created in new ViewNX 2 Nikon Movie Editor (stick together, nothing more).

Important note: The environs of this movie is completely without a daylight, the intensity of light for a correct exposition settings on this camera is approximately 1/60s, F4, ISO 800. To let you know, the conditions are not optimal IMHO.

Settings: Camera operate itself with shutter speed and ISO, aperture is set @F4 manualy, before you run LiveView in a manual or semi-manual mode. Becouse of black bodies cameras and wanted to know how camera works in high light, I set the exposition correction to +0,3 EV.

About AF-F (full autofocus during movie): I chose small focus area in the middle (other posibility is wide area, and you can adjust the position on the screen too, next time I do that!).
When you touch a manual focus ring on a lens body, the AF-F automaticaly turn off, if you want to run AF-F again, just semi-press a shutter button (if you do full press, its take a picture). You can also stop an AF-F for a while by pressing a AF-L / AE-L button, this will stop a continous AF (note: don't forget to set this button to AF-Lock only, becouse as you can see in last part of my video where is a SB-900 an over exposure, becouse I hold it, so next time AF-Lock only!).

About lens: Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 VR ED Nano Crystal Coating is really nice and the picture seems clear and sharp at wide open aperture. Great thing is, this lens HOLD a focus plane while you zooming! Thats awsome information, with Nikkor 10-24 DX which has same ability, it will be perfect ZOOM kit for
Nikon D7000 (equivalent 35mm analog 15-36-180mm with both lences) for a serious movie work.

Summary: This video aim on a technical aspect only, I take the camera and start shot, without any concept and some better knowladge of ability of the camera, so it is just a shot. :)

Please tell me what you think or you can ask for anything else.

Hey... Thanx for the very useful tests of the nikon7000. I just have one question, why is it making this annoying sound when it tries to auto focus??

I hope u will get back to me on my mail since I hardly use blogspots
